I was nine on VE day and there was such wonderful excitement. It was exciting to see people working together for the benefit of each other. They were sharing and they were happy and this is what |I’d say, this is an occasion to be happy.
What I remember about the war time is when there were bullets in our Bungalow. Had I been in my room, the bullets would have gone in my bed. I do remember seeing a plane coming over with lots of bullets coming out - so we’re happy to be alive and this is a very wonderful occasion to be in Trafalgar square.
