I got married in 1945. At the time I could have had a going away outfit or a wedding dress. The lady next door had a lovely wedding dress that I borrowed and a cousin lent me a head dress. We had red carnations for the flowers – it was lovely. We went to Leicester on honeymoon to see my brothers.
