Being Born and Bred in Leicester, I joined the Land Army at the age of 17yrs, my first job was milking at Kegworth. I had several jobs but the best was working for RWAEC Rutland War Agriculture Excessitive Commitee, I learnt Ploughing,Discing,Drilling, I did this for 8 1/2 yrs I loved it. I was entered in a Ploughing Contest and came 2nd. There were 2 girls and one lad who started and I had to show them the ropes. I took the girls to London on a Ploughing course and we all passed with flying colours. I also looked after Italian prisoners of war, having them work along side of me on Baling machines, from then onwards I have never looked back, I am now 80yrs and often think of those years,
