Feb 3rd.
Today is the last day for writing about our wartime meals which are for today fatbread, bacon, two cups of tea, cabbage, potatoes, meat, gravy, carrots, tinned fish, breadcake. My mother and father went out this afternoon and bought a new doormat.

Feb 4th.
We had PT this afternoon. We had to do and intelligence test this afternoon and I came fifth. I had 72 marks out of a hundred.

Feb 5th.
We went up into the hall this morning and acted out a Bernard Shaw St Joan play. It has snowed a bit today. I made a big slide on my pavement when I came out of school today. I went to the barber at dinnertime.

Feb 6th.
We had a heavy fall of snow last night. We could not have football this morning.

Feb 10th.
Mr Gordon told us a story called The History of Mr Polly by HG Wells. I went out on my skates today. It is the first time for a week.

Feb 11th.
My mother and father went out this afternoon and bought a mat, 2 pairs of pants, and a tin of hair grease. The mat is yellow, red and green. We had to learn Loch Lomond today.

Feb 12th.
When some of the boys were playing this morning John Oliver tore his coat.

Feb13th.
We couldn鈥檛 play football this morning because someone pushed in the milk tops and Mr Gordon couldn鈥檛 find out who did it. I had a shower bath after PT lesson.

Feb 14th.
My skate wheel broke today. We changed our library book today and I had Constructive English. As our school has been evacuated I will be unable to carry on with my diary. I have passed the scholarship for Varndean.
