This story was submitted to the Peoples War site by Jonathan Plant of the CSV 大象传媒 Coventry and Warwickshire Action Desk on behalf of Mary Grey and Ernie Hughes and has been added to the site with teir permission. The author fully understands the sites' terms and conditions.

I was in Binley on the night of the Blitz and when the bombs fell I hid under the table even though there was a shelter in my back garden. As a child the war seemed like one big adventure and the bomb sites created a ready make play area for us!
I was also briefly evacuateed to Lillington near Leamington Spa but I only stayed for two months before retuning to Coventry where I stayed for the rest of the war.
