Intelligence Section, RAF Ashbourne, Dec 1944. Front centre F/Lt Rathbone (cousin of Basil Rathbone, actor)
A brief note supporting the attached photograph. My husband served the war in RAF Intelligence, being based at RAF Ashbourne towards the end of WW2. There was much camaraderie between Intelligence and the flight crews, as illustrated in the photograph attached, taken at RAF Ashbourne in December 1944. Of particular note is the Flight Lieutenant Rathbone, front centre, who was the cousin of the famous actor Basil Rathbone. My husband, John Parker, who is no longer with us, listed the names as follows:
