In 1939 when we weren鈥檛 sure if the war was coming we would run into the gas chambers as a precaution.
One time we were in a police station in Walton we had a call to say Walton hospital had been bombed and part of the police station was patricianly hit and we were all told to get under the Billiard table.
My brother was evacuated from Liverpool but only to Scarsdale!
