Remember me Oliver!
I was born in 1936 and lived in Macclesfield where many evacuees from London were sent. My aunt, Sarah Barton, had a teenager evacuee called Oliver Harrison and one day when I was in her house and talking to Oliver, without me knowing, he sketched my head and shoulders. I would be about 7 or 8 at the time. My aunt kept the sketch on her wall until her death in the 50鈥檚 and then I had it. To this day I keep this sketch on my bedroom wall, still in its original basic frame.
Oliver left my aunt鈥檚 to join the navy and I do often wonder if he survived the war and, if so, whether he pursued a career using his artistic talents.
