I did many landings in my time in world war two 18 infact here are some storys of what i have done in these landings.
My mission was to collect samples of sand from a beach that was going to be stormed on d-day. This sample was to be analysed to see if it was suitable for tanks to make the landing.
I colud hear the german soldiers feet crunching across the sand when we went in on the night. It really shook me up but i knew that i had to be brave.
Our landing crafts went towards the beach we dropped the kedge anchor and carried on. We did what we had to do and then made our way back on to the landing craft. The Kedge anchor pulled usn back up but one of the boats was stuck. We had to get it cut with a oxidising torch. I LITE THE TORCH HUNDREDS OF TIMES BEFORE BUT THIS THIME I COULDNT STOP WORRYING THAT THE GERMANS WOULD SEE! I made a mistake with the gas and a white light flew everywhere, it was lucky we werent blown from the sea. I cut the chain and we headed back to the mother ship.
