baltimore and boston fighter bombers were produced by the americans, dismantled into sub assemblies and shipped in packing cases to basra. the packing cases were transported on raf queen mary`s to raf station shaiba, where I and my fellow aircraftsman reassembled the aircraft and test flew them. russian pilots then flew them to russia. this occurred in 1942.
