Maurice was a young man who joined the air force at a time when every man or boy felt he had to do his duty for his country, most of them did so with terrible consequences
sons, brothers and fathers fell in the trenches, in the sea and in the air, many of the boys who followed on did so with a sense of glory, how is there glory in war?It leaves wives as widows mothers without sons, sisters without brothers, and families torn apart, children without parents, all in the name of freedom. But maurice still continued to do what he had to do to fight the war and give his life for what he considered to be the right thing .He was only 21 when he set off on his mission at 15.00rs he and his squadron were diverted from gibraltar to the bay of biscay
