My memory is a rather short one As a young girl living in the country I remember that when the bombs came over my grandmother used to put her head under the table. The rest of her was sticking out. She said as long as her head was protected she's be fine. Although I was very young I remember thinking this couldn't be right - it's stuck with me ever since!
