I found this story amoung my late Father's papers. Sergeant Bilton 792177 Royal Artillery

OUT OF BOUNDS

I鈥檝e fought beneath the scorching sun, on sandy battlegrounds
Though many times a town is won, it鈥檚 always OUT OF BOUNDS

Though N.C.O鈥檚 and privates too, lay dead neath sandy moulds
The only place and it is true, that鈥檚 never OUT OF BOUNDS

Every rank in battle dress, to sergeant-major鈥檚 crowns
Never use each other鈥檚 mess, because it鈥檚 OUT OF BOUNDS

And when in town on well earned leave, to spend your hard won pounds
Unless you鈥檝e tapes upon your sleeves, the best shows OUT OF BOUNDS

I fight for Britain and her cause, on democratic grounds
But sad to say it鈥檚 here I pause, for England鈥檚 OUT OF BOUNDS

Each and all a mother鈥檚 son, that fights till victory sounds
Grant the same to one and all, and banish OUT OF BOUNDS
