I remember when I was 16 years old I worked behind the counter at the Co-op.
The rations were 录 lb margarine, 陆 lb sugar, 6oz cheese and one egg per person per week.
I had to do my share of fire watching and our equipment was a stirrup pump, a bucket of water and a bucket of sand, so I don鈥檛 know what use we would have been with a big fire.
