My dad didn鈥檛 believe in air raid shelters, so we didn鈥檛 have one. So we all went under the stairs. We used to take a hot jug of cocoa and bread & butter. We stayed there until the all clear. My 5 brothers served in the forces. One brother in the navy got bombed, he was in the water for 2 陆 hours. They all got home safe and sound.
