The things that will all ways stop with me after these years but why do we remember I was so young?.
I must have been 2/3 years old when my first memeries where installed in my mind it it was a very dark night as there was a black out their was no street lights and all the windows had black covers so as to keep all the light indoors and not give the Germans any thing to tell there buildings there. But you could hear the noise of planes over head looking along the street where I lived the sky was a red and yellow colour and I can remember my mother and father saying it was the flames of Manchester burning as the German planes must have just bombed it and that what was the noise of the engines as they turned over use to go back for a second go but the RAF where also fighting them. this happen for a lot of nights in a row but as the German planes where go faster to escape they were dropping there bombs they had left so we had to stop in doors. As weeks went by we would see the planes during the day just flying over turning and going back.
At the bottom of the street where I lived the main road when't it was made of granit cobbles and we would the hear tanks comeing along with there steel tracks clanpng on the cobbles.
Now when I am out at night in the country side in the dark with no street lights and I look to the horizon and you see the sky glowing from the street lighting it all ways reminds me of them early years of my life.
