I remember having evacuees from London staying with us. They were actually relations of my Mother. Father, mother and 2 boys and 1 girl. They were bombed out and decided to come up north. The oldest boy and the girl made their home with us. One night during the war the doodlebugs came over and the said ‘when they stop duck as they come straight down’. So we did all under one bed.
