Souvenir Card. 29 June 1945 Guernsey,Channel Islands

As a 10 year-old boy in a mixed class of 40 children at the above school, I was asked by our teacher, who considered my handwriting to be one of the most legible in the class, to write the letter which was to be sent, along with a parcel, to Guernsey. The class had brought all manner of "food" from home to make up a parcel to send to the people of the Channel Islands.

The enclosed is a photocopy of the card which I was allowed to keep and has been kept in an album since June 1945.

I was prompted to contribute whilst watching the ITV1 programme "Island at War" which made me think of the card and the family who replied.
