This is Mr Pilch鈥檚 story - it has been added by a Volunteer from Crawley 19th Sqdn ATC, with permission from the author, who understands the terms and conditions of adding his story to the website.

My father was in the home guard. my mother was seeing a friend out of the door and and looked up and said 鈥渓ook at all those planes鈥 and then said 鈥渢wo round things fell off the plane鈥 and her friend said 鈥渢hey're bombs!鈥

My mum's friend pushed her up the hall. My dad鈥檚 friend had a car and they heard a large bang - he saw a large heap of metal and thought it was a German bomber and then realised it was his car!
