When I was four I can remember coming home, opening the front door and looking up the stairs, and being able to see straight through to the sky!
It was 1941 and a German V1 bomb had dropped onto the roof of our house and blew most of it away.
Luckily I was in the Anderson air raid shelter in the back garden at the time.
Being able to see through the roof was an unreal experience that will stay with me for ever.
