I was making torpedos during the war. I had to paint them and stensil the numbers onto them. My husband worked at Rolls-Royce from eight in the morning till eight at night.

I remember V.E Day. Everyone was in the market place shouting, dancing and singing. I was thirteen when the war stared. I worked six days a week. We all worked so hard.
