This is about my mum when she was in the war. She went up the stairs to get her sister a blanket because it was really cold under the stairs where they were hiding. She got the blanket but as she was coming back, she was blown downstairs by a bomb that hit the house. She was very lucky because she just broke her arm and was badly grazed and bruised. She went to find out if the rest of the family were OK and they were, and she covered her little sister with the blanket. And it鈥檚 a wonderful story. Unfortunately my mum isn鈥檛 here today but I know she wouldn鈥檛 mind my sharing her experience with you.
My dad was in Burma and when he came home, he used to talk about the things that happened there. After the war he used to have nightmares and dream about the different things that happened. One night he thought my mum was the enemy and he was threatening her to the ground. He fell out of bed on to the ground and my mum had a job to wake him up. So she slept downstairs after that for a while!
