My story is 5 pages and filed in "my documents" Is it possible to send the entire file direct rather than type it all again?

Message 1 - WW2 Remembered

Dear Linden

The fact that your story is in your 'My Documents' file means that it is already in a digitised format. It is ready for sending and does not have to be re-typed. You can simply 'copy and paste' it in.

Get your story on screen and do a word count in Word. If you don't have Word or a word count facility, estimate the length. The total length can be any amount of words but you can only send it in 3,000 word installments. If it is longer than 3,000 words, break it up. Call the first part 'My Story - Part 1' or 'My Story - Chapter 1' (substituting the words 'My Story' for your own title).

Now do this:

1. Highlight all the text of your story (i.e., the part you are going to send). Either by dragging your mouse pointer over it or by going to the Edit menu and clicking 'Select all'

2. Copy it: on your keyboard press Ctrl (far left) and 'c' together. Usually indicated by Ctrl+c.

3. In the green column on the left, click on either Personal Story or Family story, depending if it is about you or someone else.

4. Follow the instructions.

5. When you come to the window where you type your story, paste yours in.
To do this jusy press Ctrl+v.

6. You can Preview it for final adjustments.

7. When you are happy with it, send it to the Editorial Desk.

8. Do the same for each subsequent part

Let me know how you get on,

I meant your 'My Documents' folder, not file.

Peter
