My Grandad lived in kendal during the war and during that time he met a young boy of similar age called peter. The boy lived with his mum a few streets away from my Grandad and went to the school that everyone in the area went to. Peter lived in the area for three years from 1941 to 1944 and all the other children found Peter different to everyone else. For instance he had to go straight from school to his house and always appeared to eat his tea at the strangest of times. Throughout the years Peter stayed in his house and the only communication he had with the other children was at school, which he very rarely attended. My Grandad told me about the unusual conversations he used to have with him, and the topics consisted of rations, whether he had heard from his dad, if he knew any soldiers in the area, and whether he had knowledge of battles that had taken place. One night my Grandad and his friends were walking home after working at the local laundrette and noticed a large black car outside Peter's house. They then heard mutters coming from the house of a different language. They walked up through the garden path and saw three large men all with german accsents.
