My granda bradley and great uncle david were both in the 2nd would war . Some of the stories my granda told me were interesting and sometimes sad.
He told us that he carries a silver tray in his hand and was able to walk from one boat to another that was a story my granda told my mum when she wasyoung like me.
He was feeling sick one day and couldn't go on the navy ship
H.M.S Asphol but his younger brother did which was to be a fatel as the ship H.M.S Asphol got into difficulty and it sunk in the ocean unfortunalty for my great uncle David he was on that ship and it was a very upsetting time for my granda bradley and all his family and freind. It happened on the 9th March 1944.His body was never discovered. My granda bradley worked as a stoker on a ship in the would war 2 , all the men had to work to-gether and do lot of different jobs. My granda bradley has recently died but I will always remember the wonderful stories he told me about life as a stoker on a war ship during the war.
Ialso had another great uncle Johny colhoun who was in the 2nd would war he was my granny bradley's brother, Inever meetmy granny but my mum has told me she was ab wonderful lady she also was nursing at the time of the 2nd would war so she have seen ome horrible sight's
My granny's brother Johnny is buried in a graveyard in Jamaia, not many of our family have been able to visit his grave but those who have said it's a beautiful place. As you can see from my story I cannot tell you many date's as granda bradley's no longer with us and never told us many date's all I know what I con remember from the stories I have told and what my mum has told me.
