I was wounded three times - twice of which happened in Italy.
I remember it well and know all the dates.
The weather in the Desert was ideal apart from the sand storms.
But in Italy it was terrible.
In my opinion there was really only one battle - the battle of Monte Cassino.
The finest army was the 8th Army.
