I was in Liverpool in Regiment stationed in Cairo, Egypt.

The fighting and shelling was very bad, seeing friends losing their lives and limbs was very hard to handle.

In time, I have seen friends have their arms, legs and even their heads blown off and felt very lucky to have been able to survive it all and return home which some of my regiment did not return.
