Joseph Wheymark Brain (his brother was Willam John Edward Brain) in a photograph taken while on leave during World War Two, outside his parents’ house in Southmead, Bristol.
Joseph Wheymark Brain was unfortunately captured and held prisoner of war and suffered from malnutrition as a result, which sadly affected his health in later life. After the war he worked for Bristol City Museum until he died in the late 1970s. He lived with his wife, Mary, and three children, in Knowle, Bristol.
