My father was always a mystery to me. He died before I was born. I had a step-father and I always knew he was a step-father. He was nice. Mum didn't talk about my father at all but I knew that she often thought of him. I had a younger brother who was from my Mum's marriage to my step-father. He seemed to know more about my father than me.
My father had died in training while stationed in the RAF.
Mum died about two years ago and I have since discovered alot more about my father.
He was 24 when he died and was buried in London. I have been to see his grave recently.
Since Mum's death I have found some objects which belonged to my father. There was a suitcase which had a photo album containing photographs from his year training in Canada for the RAF. There was also his RAF Wings too.
It was hard for Mum when he died because she was a widow with a child and had to rely on relatives for accommodation and support.
