My earliest memories are war related.
The anti aircraft gun firing in a neighbouring field. The gunners living in a nissen hut and handing me my first orange.
The endless rumbel of traffic in the days before D day assembling at March wood.

In darlington a vivid memory of my father hanging out the Union flag and the Soviet flag on VJ day.
