this story was submitted to the people's war site by a pupil at Esher High School on behalf of (Veteran's name)and has been added to the site with his/her permission. (veteran's name)fully understands the site's terms and conditions. After serving in the air force on the first Avro Manchester squadron 207 at Waddington we changed to Lancaster Bombers and we were moved to RAF Bottesford. In march 1943 we were posted to RAF Scampton to a new squadron being bomed for a special purpose little did we know at the time that this turned out to be the most famous bomber squadron of the RAF 614 squadron the Dambusters then got meet one the great inventonns of the time Barnes Wallis who was walking on his theory of destroying
