During the War we lived in Luton - there was Mother and father and three children.
My father was in the ARP and when the sirens went he had to go on fire watch.
On this particular evening, the sirens went and Dad went off fire watching telling my
Mother to go to the shelter - which was in the park. She got us ready and put the youngest two in the pram, with me running alongside - it was very dark and all of a sudden my mother tripped and the pram went over tipping the little ones out. No one was hurt, but it was quite an experience.
