I dont know a lot about my father at Dunkirk, But i do know he came back on a ship or boat called the Gracie fields. He worked from leaving school as a telegram boy at the post office at Oxford and joined up with his mates with the Oxford and Bucks regiment. After he got home from Dunkirk he was sent to the western desert. He died in november 1985,We still have got in the family the trigger part of his gun that he bought back from Dunkirk also a few photos of him and mates around the Pyamids. I found out from a lock keeper at Egham on the thames about 4yrs ago in a book that the boat called the Gracie Fields did not survive so she must have made at least one return journey, Does anybody know more about her? from his son stephen saunders
