Mr. Pipotone is Italian but he lived in Tunisia for most of his younger life when he was old enough he joined the Italian army serving under Mussolini he was sent to Libya and Ethiopia in Africa. Then nearing the end of the war he was sent to Southern Africa on a boat and on the way he viewed the Egyptian Pyramids when he was in Africa his regiment where captured by Pygmys who handed them over to the British, he stated that 'when we where captured our captain shot himself in the head' after being captured he was sent on a boat to Scotland. The journey took over a month!
When in Scotland he was sent to a prisoner of war camp. He worked on a farm. After workin on the farm, he was sent to Woodley, Romsey to work on a farm. He wanted to move back to Tunisia, but the French wouldn't let him. He heard about the D-Day landing on the radio. He later got married to a young girl and had 4 kids, 2 girls and 2 boys. He has recently seen his brother in Italy.
