I remember the blitz in London.
I had two brothers — the younger one was in the army in Germany.

I remember the shelters at the bottom of the garden — they dug a shelter.
We would go down. There would be quite a few of us — family and next door neighbours.

I remember the blackouts — the curtains and rationing.
Sugar was rationed, so were quite a few foods.
I remember we had rationing cards and identification cards.
