4 years 6 months old in September 1939, I was just about to start school. I was excited but Mum and Dad were not. Five brothers all went off to War and came back. I remember having Christmas cards from Italy, the envelopes had Italian stamps. One brother sent a sack of chestnuts from Germany or the Channel Isles.
