Where did you live during WW2 and was it bombed ?
I lived in Bedford and it was bombed.
Did you fight in WW2? What was it like ?
No I didn鈥檛 fight in WW2.
Did you ever see a bomb and what did it look like?
I saw quite a few; they were quite big and some were huge.
Did you know anybody who died in the WW2?
Yes I did know somebody who died in the war. I think his name was Mr Spencer.
What was your favourite sweet in the war?
There were no sweets in the war, they were rationed.
Do you know anybody who fought in the war?
My brother fought in North Africa and he was seriously injured. One of his injures was the loss of his left eye.
Did you meet anybody who got evacuated?
Well I did meet several evacuees but we didn鈥檛 have any staying at our house. They nearly all came from London to escape the Blitz.
Were there any blackouts where you lived ?
Yes everybody had to have blacked out windows
