This story was submitted to the People's War site by Shankill Library on behalf of Mrs Florence Jury, nee Heron, and has been added to the site with her permission.

I remember the rationing and the blackouts. I worked as a cleaner in different houses. I lived in Loughgall in the country and had to carry a gas mask to work.
