Jane thought that the war was happy days for her and her friends, it was their parents that worried a lot. Their was two camps up the road from jane and bombs were often dropped a lot sometimes even next to her. There was a warning sound which would tell them wether to go into hiding, they would always be carrying a torch around with them dimming it not to be noticed and that was the worst of her experiences because you didn't know who you might bump in to. During the war she had her mother with her, 2 brothers and also her friends, they were rationed on lots of foods and they wold recieve bread, marge, a certain amount of sugar and milk. There was not really a problem with their clothes they would just wear anything nice she could find because she would sneak out of her house to go and see the soldiers! also she would go out dancing when her father did not notice. Jane was forced to share her bed with her sister whenever they could they would go round to posh peoples houses and eat some cake.
