I was in the Land Army.
I started milking the cows — it was a 6am start even on a Sunday.
We did the potatoes, everything.
I loved it.
I was married in 1944 to Andrew in Wigston, Leicestershire.
He was in West Africa in the RAF — he came back for the Wedding.
Two days off.
It was a white wedding.
He came back to England and then went to Germany.
I went from Stoughton to Burton Overy. I was there for three years.
There were only Land Army girls there.
I used to drive the tractor.
I used to go to all the dances.
There was one in Burton Overy and it was lovely.
I really loved it working on the farm.
