"This story was submitted to the People's War site by a volunteer from Gloucester on behalf of Stan from Quedgeley, Gloucester and has been added to the site with his permission. Stan fully understands the site's terms and conditions".

During the war, my Mother used to sell Eldorado Ice cream from a little truck on the LMS Station. One day the freezer that held the ice cream broke down. On this day a train pulled into the station full of Soldiers in a distressed state returning from Dunkirk. My Mother retrieved the ice cream and gave it to them.
