'We lived right away up in the country and aeroplanes were about all we saw — we were at the Megget, up near St Mary’s Loch. I was born in 1922, so I was in my twenties during the War. I wasnae keen on the pictures, I liked a dance better. We had a pig and hens, and two cows. We used to milk them and make butter'.
