My grandad Cormell was on the King George V when it fired on the Bismarck, he told us that the tiles fell off the wall in the medical room and that wires dropped with the force of the guns all going at once! I have some great photos' of him on the ship and of King George and Winston Churchill on the ship but my favourite is of George Formby performing on the ship (I think it was 1944). I also have newspaper cuttings that my grandma kept with every little piece of news about the ship. I would love to hear more stories but sadly he died last May so I will keep my little folder to show my children what great grandad did in the war!
