I can remember having to move to an air raid shelter with my family. I was petrified hearing the bombs drop all around us. I can remember my Mum read us all a story that night trying to calm us down and to make us try to forget about the bombs outside. But I couldn't, they were too loud! It carried on all night long and all the next day. We sometimes sat down to play board games or card games! I dont remember much now because I was only ten back then! All I can really remember is the sounds of booms and bangs from the bombs. To me it seemed like the bombs were waiting for us. They carried on for ages I was real happy leaving the air raid shelter at last and going home! I WAS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
