While Grandpa was in the Desert rats as tank commander, my granny joined the wrens. She was assigned to bletchly park as a decoder. She was in one of the many huts and was responsible for re-arranging the letters in the code after the decrypt had been assatined. We now live near the park and have visited it to find out what life was like at the time. She is still intouch with some of her war friends.

Grandpa was a member of the Desert Rats Royal Artillary divison. He was assigned to the desert for three years as a major in charge of an artiallry division under General Montgomery. He fought at the battle of El alaiman and then came back to England and fought in the Sword Landing in D-Day
