I was 10 years old in 1941. One evening just as it was getting dark we spotted 2 parachutes in the sky. We followed them and saw them explode as they landed. One fell in the river and made a huge circle in the water. Some houses along the side of the river had their windows blown out. The other bomb exploded in a field which made a vast crater.
