Hello - as the Royal Navy Fleet (such as it is nowadays) is up to review in the Solent shortly - you might like to visit
About links
where the real Royal Navy and other allied departments were reviewed at Spithead in 1953 with the inspection of the then new Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh.
I wasn't there ( not quite ) but my brother Alan was (he's retired in living in Melbourne) - I remember the 大象传媒 Radio Commentator saying (and this is in 1953 when 大象传媒 language was 'proper') - and this response by the 大象传媒 person was when the whole fleet was switched on with lights etc...quote "Blimey, The whole Bloody Fleet's lit up" unquote... and that went out on the air !
There were ships and ships - ships coming out of your ears and as far as the eye could see - when we had a proper Navy.
Regards
