I was a despatch rider for a while and I had to lead a convoy through London. My motobike was given to me. With me were two civilian police, one rode at either side of me. They said to me "If a buzz bomb came over head, dive for cover" Suddenly we heard a buzz bomb coming. The two police men were of their bikes in a crack, whilst I was still on mine. I saw a butcher running down the road with a carving knife in his hand, as he had just left his shop. Then I noticed the buzz bomb over our heads, it dropped out of the sky and landed on a house. There was nothing left of the house, only a cloud of dust and smoke. Most of the army lorries windows were blown out. I was blown off my bike onto the road. I think everyone was shaken up, however we all survived and we proceeded to take the convoy through London.
