I lived in a back to back house on Bolton Road, Small Heath. At the back of the house there was the railway and the place where the trains used to fill up with water. The airplanes would follow the trains and bomb them. The houses at the back of us were bombed but we were lucky not to be.

This story was submitted to the People鈥檚 War site by Anastasia Travers a volunteer with WM CSV Actiondesk on behalf of Ruby Langford and has been added to the site with his permission. Ruby Langford fully understands the sites terms and conditions.
