I am ex Sapper 5119412 Edward G. Wray, born 5.7 1919 at Edmonton Middlesex. I attended Latymer Secondary School, Edmonton.
One year my senior was a certain Mr Robinson.
In 1939 I belonged to a cycle club, The Monarchs. Most male members were in the Territorial Army. On a visit I met Mr Robinson again who was also a member of the T.A.
During July 1944 I served in 53rd E and M section attached to 230 Field Park Co Royal Engineers at Tilly-Sur-Seulles, France. Our section built the first large water point consisting of a 4200 gallon water tank. After we had completed and run this for a while we were taken over by another Royal Engineers Unit. At 2:30 am, I was on duty. Someone said 鈥淒on鈥檛 I know you?鈥 On closer inspection I recognised Mr. now Capt. Robinson.
I also met him in 1946 at Lyons Corner House, Leicester Square with his wife.
